SCHOOL TAX REFORM

There is no more pressing issue than School Tax Reform; it is the single most important issue that must be dealt with by the New York State Assembly. Greg is a budget hawk and has voted against every tax increase that has come across his desk. He has made a name for himself as a fierce advocate for eliminating deficit spending and fighting against all tax increase, state and local. Governor Spitzer was elected on promises to usher in real property tax relief, and Assemblyman Ball intends to hold the Governor to his word. Sheldon Silver, the leader of the Assembly, has fought against comprehensive school tax reform for decades. Greg Ball is working within the district and throughout the entire region to join with elected officials, students, teachers, tax reformers, and others to create a “Suburban Initiative” for School Tax Reform. Now nearing the final stages, Assemblyman Ball's Task Force is developing a comprehensive piece of school tax reform legislation that is geared towards protecting seniors and working families from unfair and excessive taxation.
